Judith Rodriguez: People from Wilson

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have always been attracted to art and humanities. I went to University and graduated as a psycho- analyst. Meanwhile I always went to as many art exhibitions as I could and also took up Literature at University. Then, one day, after a trip around Europe, I was so very upset, but realized I did not want to lose the eyes that had been amazed by all those wonderful bridges, little streets, people. I understood it was not about the place, but the eyes, the way of seeing. There I met photography.

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I have lived most of my life. I have always been attracted by art and humanities.

Ilan Ben Yehuda: From the old station of Tel Aviv to the beach

I am a graphic designer. About 12 years ago, I purchased my first digital camera and decided to take it to the street. My first experience was to photograph the area of Tel Aviv Old Central Bus Station, a terrible place that becomes a refuge for homeless people, drug addicts and later refu- gees from Africa. Time passed and photography at the station became dangerous. I also realized that my photography could not change reality, and I moved slowly to street photography.

About 12 years ago, I purchased my first digital camera and decided to take it to the street.

Corinne Spector: Varanasi and Rajasthan

I was born in 1961 in Morocco, but arrived in Israel at the age of nine months. I spent my childhood in Jaffa yet grew up in Bat Yam. I currently live in Sholam. I was always a storyteller; I am the eldest of six sisters, and I always invented and told them stories. My passion for photography was born a long time ago. It seems I always had a camera but I never really learned to take photos. I always documented my daily life, and that of my family, and with my camera, I wanted to tell stories.

Varanasi is a place where people meet and mingle, cry and laugh together all the time.

Andrea Ratto: Barrio de Lavapiés

I was born in Genova (Italy) in 1976, but I have been based in A Coruña (Spain) since 2005. In recent years I have been drawn to street photography, which to me now means a way of documenting society with a critical view. In 2017 I visited 26 European countries with my camera in search of European society. I published the photobook “Europa” thanks to a crowdfunding campaign in the Kickstarter platform. Now I am working to complete the project about Gentrification in Lavapiés, Madrid.

At the end of 2018, a survey by Time Out magazine designated Madrid’s vibrant and wonderfully diverse Barrio de Lavapiés as the top choice on its list of “50 Coolest Neighborhoods in the World,” after surveying over 15,000 people.
