"How far do you walk to say Democracy?"Joining their fellow citizens from the 50 states across the Atlantic, the American community in Porto gathered in the early afternoon of Saturday, March 28, in front of Porto City Hall. Close to two hundred people.. "Protest is not resistance," they said, but the words that were heard and the sense of mourning on that sunny early afternoon (the same sun they sought when settling here) made it clear that resistance is the way they've chosen. How is it possible that it has come to this? We elected them, and they are playing with the world, reminding me of Chaplin kicking the globe in "The Great Dictator".
