Petros' photography is highly conceptual and ‘primitive’, as he himself admits. His work is a return to the origins. The simplicity of the structure, the uniqueness of our life. The mystery of the universe, the complexity of our actions.
References to Magritte, Becket and neorealism cannot be overlooked, in a message so personal that it makes us think we have reached the last resort, that of the survivors.
The world is divine because it is causeless. Therefore, only Art, with its causeless character, is capable of approaching its meaning. No one can give an answer about how the world was created but Art can teach us how to recreate it, in all its glory, just as the world recreates itself in an eternal cycle.
On the same beach the primal sea repeats untiringly the same words and washes up onto the beach the same creatures full of wonderment at how they are still alive. Long straight lines calmly lead to the horizon empty space. Celebration of the water and the sand.! Endless mornings on the sand between the naked bodies of urchins and drained carapaces of eggshells. The midday, exhausted, fights back the eternal breath of the open sea.
These pleasures are corporal, you can feel them with each and every one of your senses and the spirit approves them all. All this amounts to perfection, in accordance with our nature the recognition and the respect of man. We should repeat this to all those that follow, we should say again that which has been told. The one who becomes an echo, especially an enthusiastic one, is the one who participates in the divinity of the world.
